Funnels
A funnel is just a path. It starts where your prospect is and ends where you want them to go — a form fill, a call booked, a consultation scheduled. The problem is most service business funnels have gaps.
In plain English: a funnel is the sequence of pages, messages, and steps that move someone from "I found this business" to "I hired this business."
For a service business, that usually looks like this: a prospect finds you through a Google search, an ad, or a referral. They land on a page. They either take action or they don't. If they don't, they either leave forever or — if you have a follow-up system — they get a second chance.
Most service businesses have the first part (a website) but not the second (a conversion path and follow-up). The result is a leaky bucket: traffic comes in, almost none of it converts.
Service businesses sell high-consideration purchases. Nobody hires a contractor, books a medical procedure, or retains a consultant after 30 seconds on a website. The funnel has to do more work — building trust, establishing authority, handling objections — before the prospect is ready to reach out.
A homepage can start that process. A dedicated landing page can accelerate it. A follow-up sequence can close the gap for the 80 percent who were interested but didn't act on the first visit.
